Historia Wiktorii i Józefa Ulmów z podłańcuckiej wsi Markowa, którzy podczas II wojny światowej zostali - na skutek anonimowego donosu - zamordowani za ukrywanie żydowskich sąsiadów przez niemiecką żandarmerię. Tekst jest próbą rekonstrukcji wspomnień mieszkańców wsi o tamtych wydarzeniach. Bada też postawy lokalnej społeczności wobec Zagłady: opowiada o przypadkach heroicznego ratowania, doraźnej pomocy, denuncjacji, czynnego udziału w Zagładzie, obojętności.
Tekst powstał na zamówienie Teatru im. Wandy Siemaszkowej w Rzeszowie dzięki finansowaniu Marszałka Województwa Podkarpackiego.

the history of the ulma family
Sztuka nie była do tej pory nagradzana.
The play follow the tragic story of the Ulma family from the Polish village of Markowa. Wiktoria and Józef Ulmas decided to provide their Jewish neighbours with shelter during the German nazi occupation of Poland during WWII. Due to anonymous delation their actions were revealed and the whole family, as well as the hiding Jews, murdered.
The play explores the memory of the village society of Markowa, as well as various attitudes of the Polish villagers towards their Jewish neighbours during the period of Nazi occupation: heroic friendship, indifference and anti-Semitic hostility.
The text was commissioned by Teatr im. Wandy Siemaszkowej in Rzeszów and co-funded by Marshal of the Subpomerian Voivodship.
